Covid 19 Relief

COVID-19 Relief Efforts
During the COVID-19 pandemic, our organization actively provided relief and support to communities facing unprecedented challenges. Our COVID-19 relief efforts were focused on three key areas:
Emergency Food Relief
Recognizing the economic hardships faced by many families, we extended emergency food relief to our sponsored students and their neighborhoods.
- This initiative was entirely voluntary, with generous contributions from our sponsors.
- Food packages were distributed to 1,000 families across five education zones at a total cost of Rs. 1.7 million.
- The relief effort ensured that families in need had access to essential food supplies during the crisis.

Continuing Education During Lockdown
With schools and educational institutions closed, we took proactive steps to support students’ learning:
- Collaborated with Zonal Education Departments in Kilinochchi, Vavuniya North, Mannar, Madhu, and Thenmaradchy to develop and distribute printed subject materials and worksheets.
- This initiative helped students continue their education at home and stay on track with their syllabus in preparation for their return to school.
Preparing Schools for a Post-COVID Environment
To facilitate a safe return to school, we implemented measures to enhance hygiene and health protocols in educational institutions:
- Handwashing Facilities: Partnered with the Kilinochchi Education Zone to install 100 handwashing units across 35 schools, ensuring students could comply with new hand sanitation guidelines.
- Face Masks Distribution: Collaborated with the Mullaitivu Education Zone to manufacture and distribute washable cloth masks to all students in the zone, helping them adapt to post-pandemic safety measures.

Through these efforts, we aimed to provide immediate relief, ensure uninterrupted education, and create a safe learning environment for students during and after the pandemic.
