It is a well known fact that students from under resourced areas struggle in Science, Mathematics and English subjects.

To address this issue, SJC87 Initiative offers special scholarships to students in the GCE AL Biological Science and Mathematics stream in the North.

In Nuwaraeliya and Badualla Education zones, we are addressing this in a different way with special seminars to all the students in these two streams, to better prepare them for the exams, which are scheduled to take place in early January.

Approximately 170 students are learning in these streams in Nuwaraeliya Zone Division 2 and 40 students are learning in Badulla Zone. These special sessions started in August and they will run through the end of December.
