87 Initiative has been a life-changing support for me and my family. Losing my mother was difficult, and my father struggled to raise us. Their sponsorship helped me stay in school and focus on my Commerce studies. I am inspired by my brother's success and hope to follow his path.

I am incredibly grateful to 87 Initiative for their generous support, which has allowed me to pursue my studies in Siddha Medicine at Jaffna University. Losing my brothers in the war was heartbreaking, and my family's financial struggles made higher education seem impossible. However, this sponsorship has given me the opportunity to stay close to campus and focus on my studies without constant worry.
We provide sponsorship for three categories of students, namely, school students up to GCE Ordinary Level, school students in GCE Advanced Level, and university students pursuing higher education and professional courses globally.
We work with schools and Education Zones to get basic infrastructure and essential educational facilities in place so that student learning can happen in a better, supportive environment.
Kilinochchi district in SriLanka has 21 Special Education units taking care of more than 200 Special needs children. We provide assistance to these children and the schools.
Purpose of ICT projects is to provide ICT facilities to schools so that they can use them as a tool to engage students in leaning and to extend the learning beyond classroom walls
We are dedicated to promoting educational excellence and character development among students in Sri Lanka’s North, East, and Upcountry regions. Our mission is to ensure every child has access to quality education, empowering them to complete their studies and overcome challenges like child labor, early marriages, and substance abuse.

We are proud to share the remarkable success of our sponsorship program in 2025, which has helped 925 students pursue their educational dreams. Through the generosity of our supporters and partners, we were able to provide financial assistance and other resources to 450 school students and 475 university students.

The primary purpose of the school level sponsorship program is to prevent students from dropping out of the school due to poverty.
Many schools in rural areas don’t have teachers in Primary classes. We provide temporary teacher assistance in these schools on a rotating semi-annual.
Special Needs Education Kilinochchi Education Zone has 21 special education units with more than 200 students with special needs.
ICT Facilities to Schools and Universities We provide ICT facilities to schools and Zonal Education offices to enhance ICT capabilities.
